They had the power to make me change my mind.

As a Spanish native speaker, I was not used to write in other languages rather than just my own language. However after some self-analysis, I decided.

I am about to start classes this next week. I am not really excited because what I am living is a whole new experience.
From Costa Rica, with my family and friends in another country, becoming aware that it was not going to be easy I started an adventure.
I started studying in Utah and just some months after, I got accepted to start college in Idaho BYUi. Also, I got married to a colombian guy who was in the same position as me. Both "ENROLLED" to a new life experience.
A new state, with no one that I can talked to, besides my husband; with no money, and no places to go (Rexburg is a really small city with NOTHING), being newlyweds with no experience at all. I decided that I was prepared for this. As hard as it sounds.
I am not into the role of a "housewife" I believe that house chores are for all the members of the house. But It seems almost impossible for someone who barely cooks an egg to do all 3 things at once: Attend my church callings, being an outstanding student, and being a lovely wife.
So I had to make a plan and decide what is what I want for me, my family, and my future.
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me"
I can do all things through Christ. Since I was little I understood this principle. There is nothing impossible if you believe that God can help you. It is important to know that we should do our part too. Blessings come if we keep our promises. D&C 82:10 "I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise."
I have being keeping my promises, why would I be afraid?
I can show that anything is possible, IF a person believes.
My whole life experience has had this principle. I believed that it was possible to study abroad. It was hard, I had to make lots of sacrifices to come here but finally I did. I need to recognize that all of what I have done could not be real if it was not in God´s plan.
I came from a family where we had the necessary things for living but we did not have enough money for paying my tuition. But, that was my dream. I started working hard, studying every day, keeping my covenants because I wanted to "do my part". I had faith enough that is why I direct all my doings on that goal: study what I like where I want.
Some church leaders encourage us to be grateful.
"We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude"
It is a shame sometimes here on campus I heard ungrateful people saying that being here is nothing more than a bad experience. I also get impressed when people says that they are here because it is cheap, nothing else. Well, it was not for me at all so I should be grateful x2 if I had the chance to be here today. Some researches have shown that having a positive and a grateful attitude will help you to be a better student, worker, brother, sister...
I explained all of this to you because one reason: that is why I am writing a blog.
I am sure I am not the best, I am sure my grammar is terrible, I am sure I am not the best wife, church leader or sister.
but I have faith in that someday I will improve my writing, I have faith that Christ will help me improve my skills and help me develop gifts to help others in a better way, I know that someday all my problems, my solutions, things that I did and I did not understand why (like writing a blog) will make sense. I am so grateful for the knowledge of a God that loves us all, He knows us and He will help us whenever we want.
Being grateful, having faith in Christ, having faith in you and never lose hope are aspects that I urge you to have... It will make this journey easier and happier.
